A Florida homeowner in St. Lucie County claims that random people have been illegally parking in his driveway and on his front lawn. He bought the home not too long ago, but things have become quite frustrating as of late, with drivers regularly using his property as a free parking lot. Thousands of online users share his frustration, with many believing it could be people waiting for the bus.

Bought a new house and people keep parking in my yard/driveway. While at work

“Is there a way to stop this?” Reddit user Relentx asks on r/mildlyinfuriating. “I’m guessing it’s people with their kids at a bus stop, but they park all over my yard and in my driveway.” In the photo he shared, a tan car can be seen directly in his driveway, while the black car is in his yard. He claims the ones parked on the sidewalk don’t bother him too much, considering they’re by the public neighborhood road.

One Redditor shared a story of someone in a similar position, in which people would park on his property when visiting a local stadium. He invested in a business license to start sending people invoices. “If you put the time in to make the business and it offered parking? You could make money?” suggested the commenter.

Reddit Suggested Taking the Problem to the City Since a Bus Stop Is Involved

Thousands of others recommended that the homeowner contact his local district’s transportation office about moving the bus stop, since that is the reason people are parking on his private property. Solutions aside, many other Redditors criticized those illegally parking on the man’s lawn, let alone his driveway.

“Like I can see the logic for the driveway,” says a commenter. “The yard though? That’s so stupid and inconsiderate and entitled that it’s blowing my mind. What is wrong with people?”

Relentx has shared that he’s going to go with the signage option: telling people that there is “no parking allowed” on his property. If that doesn’t work, many strongly suggest contacting a tow service or involving the city, which would naturally be the next step in making the strangers comply.
