An Ohio woman recently got an unexpected visit from an elderly man in her neighborhood who showed up at her front door on Easter Sunday to ask for her phone number. Their awkward interaction, which was captured on her door camera, has since made its way to TikTok, where it is quickly gaining attention for how unusual the situation is.
In the video, the man can be seen standing in front of her door in casual attire while leaning on a walking stick. As soon as the woman answered through the doorbell camera, he introduced himself as her neighbor and then got in close to the camera with a smile on his face before asking, “Can I call you?”
If the woman was caught off guard by his request, she didn’t show it. She asked him what was going on, and he told her that he was simply hoping to get her phone number. The woman then politely explained that she couldn’t because she was married.
After hearing that, the man stood there briefly as if processing her response, but he did not immediately back off. Instead, he asked twice more, “Can I call you?” Again, the woman firmly but calmly declined. “No, I’m okay, honey. Have a good day. Happy Easter,” she said.
This time, the man appeared to accept her answer. He thanked her before slowly turning around and walking away from the door, ending the interaction without further incident.
