A Democrat campaigning in Barron County, Wisconsin, shared a photo of a home on r/ProgressiveHQ that hundreds of online users found concerning and telling. The picture is of a trailer home in what he calls the “deep red district.” A Trump-supporting 45-47 flag can be seen hanging on the porch railing, along with the American flag and a variation of the “Thin Blue Line” flag on the outer wall.

“Allow me to introduce poverty,” remarks Reddit user userdk3, a Democrat who is looking to gather donations to help fund the party in a place that “votes 2:1 Republican on a tiny budget.” His photo, needless to say, would be a help in spreading awareness. “What some people call socialism and bloat can be pitched as fiscal responsibility and reducing costs,” he added.

Some People Praised the Democrat While Others Shamed the Owner of the Trailer Home

Many people were quick to praise OP for what he was setting out to do in what many consider to be a rough area for a Democrat. “You are a brave individual,” one commenter applauded. “Godspeed, and please stay safe!” cheered on another. “As a former successful campaign manager, keep knocking,” wrote a third.

On the other hand, plenty of others were quick to use this Trump supporter’s home as a negative example of sorts, with some even shaming the owner. “A lot of people here need to understand that this is how millions of Americans live,” remarked a Redditor. “Imagine living there and thinking your politicians are doing right by you. Just insane,” sighed a second.

According to the ActBlue link OP shared in his post, the Democrats of Barron County claim they want to support candidates with progressive values that would spread throughout the county. He also shared a similar post on r/pics, with a picture of Mother Mary in a trailer park raided by ICE, but later deleted it.

This post with the trailer home shows how some Democrats sincerely believe that things can turn around economically if their party gains some influence in the area. While hundreds of people were supportive of the campaigner’s efforts, this photo was shared to r/ProgressiveHQ; though, people have yet to see what the reaction for the same picture would be from the opposing side.
