A day after returning from her honeymoon, a Texas woman was devastated after her bridal bouquet arrived in the mail, destroyed. Reddit user Catmom_mac shared that she wanted the $325 bouquet preserved after her wedding in Wisconsin. The business she paid to do the job allegedly sent the framed memento in the worst possible condition, with the glass, frame, and flowers smashed into pieces.

Am I overreacting by asking for more than just a full refund for destroying my bridal bouquet?

Catmom_mac explained on r/AmIOverreacting and r/whatdoIdo that her wedding took place last September, giving the preservation artist about half a year to handle the bridal bouquet. “The piece is sentimental and irreplaceable,” the woman said sorrowfully. “It’s just heartbreaking when there’s no accountability taken.”

Hundreds of Reddit users from both subreddits flooded the comment section with suggestions on what she should do about the situation. Many condemned the sender for not packaging the bouquet properly and refusing the wife’s requests, which included 60% discount for a smaller remake with family to handle the shipping.

Commenters Slammed the Seller for the Irresponsible Packaging Job

“I wouldn’t ask her to remake as she doesn’t seem like she takes much care and you’d likely just be risking a repeat experience,” advised a commenter. “The seller did an atrocious job, especially since she knew how irreplaceable this product is. She failed OP,” exclaimed a second.

Luckily, the seller offered a complete refund, which was what the majority of commenters recommended to be the best decision. “Refund. I wouldn’t trust her for anything else,” said a Redditor. “She had a duty to ensure the product was properly packaged so it was not damaged in shipping. Get your money back and blast her in reviews, it’s your only viable option,” agreed another.

Unfortunately, Catmom_mac will never be able to get back the original bridal bouquet from her wedding. On the bright side, she updated her post, saying that she decided to take the refund to avoid further complications with the business.
