A man in Erie, Pennsylvania, managed to save a stranger’s life after encountering him having a medical emergency on the street. He posted the clip online to a variety of reactions, but the stranger then apparently contacted him and thanked him for calling 911.
Isaiah Moffett shared the clip on TikTok. He usually posts driving and car-related content, but his series involving the stranger went viral. The clip in question garnered 10.6 million views, 991,400 likes, and 9,400 comments.
The Pennsylvania man started recording the stranger in an initial clip, during which he fully believed he was dead. However, he then noticed some movement and what sounded like snoring. Many pointed out that it was potentially agonal breathing, which indicates a life-threatening medical emergency, such as an overdose.
Isaiah, then, called the emergency services. A police officer arrived at the scene, as shown in the clip above. While still recording, Isaiah said, “Get him. I don’t know CPR, bro. Hurry up, bro.”
He once again heard the stranger “snoring,” and was confused by it. Still, the officer grabbed a Narcan nasal spray and administered it. He began shaking the stranger and shouted at him to wake up. Immediately, he did.
“There you are. Shout out to you, God bless you, bro,” Isaiah said, while the stranger, confused, sat down looking at the ground.
The Pennsylvania man then shared a screenshot of a message the stranger had apparently sent him after his clip went viral.
“I really want to thank you for most likely saving my life,” the stranger said. “I have had a lot of friends pass due to overdosing, and I never thought I’d be a statistic, so from the very bottom of my heart, man, thank you.”
Internet Shocked By Scene
The viral clip sparked multiple responses.
Some users were amazed by how effective the administered drug was. One viewer commented, “Narcan is freaking amazing.” Another one agreed, sharing, “Narcan has saved my life many times. Sober since 11/08/2019!”
Others, however, thought that recording and posting about the man’s medical emergency was inappropriate. One viewer said, “This is so weird to post?” Another one added, “Still disrespectful to post it online.”
With the stranger fully recovering from his medical emergency, it is no wonder the clip got as many views as it did. Combined with the heated debate in the comments and other users being amazed by what they saw, Isaiah’s video was a goldmine for virality.
From what the man said in the text message, it appears that Isaiah’s video served as a wake-up call for him to turn his life around.
