Pennsylvania Mom Dragged After Pledging To Make Unborn Son ‘A Little Gay’: ‘This Is Actually Toxic Behavior’

The Internet wasn’t pleased

A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania mother’s parenting technique is being heavily criticized after she took to TikTok to declare her hopes that her son turns out gay. In the short clip, the expectant mother is seen dancing enthusiastically while holding a radio close to her stomach. The song playing was Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) by ABBA, adding a playful and energetic tone to the video. As she dances, she appears to be engaging with her unborn child in a light-hearted way.

However, it was the caption that quickly caught viewers’ attention. She wrote, “POV you’re pregnant with a boy and gotta make sure he turns out a little gay.” She further emphasized her stance by adding that no toxic masculinity is permitted in her household. The video, which garnered over 5 million views, quickly became a point of contention, with users expressing a wide range of opinions about the message behind it.

Division Erupts Over The Mom’s Decision

One commenter strongly criticized the idea, writing, “This is actually toxic behavior for the gay community. Being gay isn’t something you can program into your child. It’s the way we are. How our souls are. Who we are as a person. Admitting you’re trying to ‘turn your son gay’ is… against ALL of the things we’re supposed to stand for in the community. It implies you can alter the way someone’s soul is, and that you’d willingly do so just to fit an idea you have.”

Another user raised concerns about the implications of the video, stating, “It’s unfathomable that so many mothers are interfering with their sons. That is such an insane line to cross.” Some commenters questioned broader parenting priorities, with one asking why more focus isn’t placed on a child’s overall well-being and health rather than assumptions about identity.

At the same time, others responded with humor or lighthearted takes. “My son was born to Dancing Queen. I have high hopes for him,” one user wrote in support of the mom.

On the other side of the debate, several users defended the mother, arguing that critics were overreacting. One commenter pushed back strongly, writing, “Why is someone’s choice for her own child disgusting to you? How is that any of your business what she chooses to do with her unborn child??? A child you won’t feed or take care of?”

Others echoed similar sentiments, framing the video as a rejection of harmful gender norms. They cited that this movement is progress, and more parents should adopt it instead of criticizing it. Some users also dismissed the outrage entirely, suggesting that many viewers were reacting to what they believed was simply clickbait content.

Ultimately, the viral clip highlights how divided public opinion can be on sensitive topics.
