A photo of a truck driver’s vehicle in Medford, Massachusetts, is drawing tens of thousands of eyes online after being posted to r/pics. Deluxe_memory_dan, the man who took the picture, told the internet, “Don’t blame this guy,” referring to the truck’s stickers that read, “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Trump!” The vehicle was also covered with a variety of other pro-Trump stickers, as well as those related to sports teams and unions.
While OP didn’t leave any description or additional context in the comment section, well over a thousand Redditors had something to say about this truck driver, with a few even recognizing its decor. “I see this truck regularly,” said one Medford local. “He’s a Malden resident, he lives around the corner for me,” added another, which is a complete possibility, considering the two cities are two miles apart.
Redditors Accused the Truck Driver’s Trump Support Contradictory To His Other Values
What some couldn’t understand was why the pro-Trump truck driver would be promoting Paul Donato, a Democrat politician. One claimed it made sense because he was “an old white guy,” but besides that suggestion, few had little explanation for why the Medford Trump supporter was rooting for a Democrat.
Other people slammed the driver for having a sticker about unions despite his support for this current administration. “’Union Yes’ and ‘I voted for Trump’ is the SPECIAL Cognitive Dissonance,” mocked one commenter. “It’s weird how many union workers support policies that hurt them. Pretty much everyone in construction is pro-Trump,” added another.
Despite OP’s plea, many admitted that they would blame the driver and his vote for the current state of the economy and country. “I absolutely blame you. Look around! lol. Enjoy your expensive gas tank fill!” exclaimed a third. “Don’t blame him, just pity him,” remarked a more sympathetic user.
While plenty of people in the US are complaining about the rising gas prices, there are MAGA members who firmly believe Trump is headed in the right direction despite the issue. Trump supporter TONYxTWO on X had a post that went viral after claiming he trusts the President’s decisions. Unfortunately for him, the amount of internet backlash for this belief was substantial, just as it was for the devoted truck driver in Medford.
These days, any sort of political support on social media can be blown out of proportion due to how tense the current political climate is.
