The age-old saying ‘finder’s keepers’ applies to various situations. So, when a family found a parking spot at a Longhorn restaurant in North Carolina, they took it. Unfortunately, a woman was already trying to save the spot and she wasn’t about to let them hear the end of it.
A TikTok video posted by @luh.mig shows a family trying to find a parking spot at a Longhorn Steakhouse in Charlotte. When they pull into the only remaining parking spot close to the restaurant, a woman is standing there as if she’s guarding the space. The TikToker pans the camera to reveal another woman in a Camaro behind them, wanting that spot.
It turns out, the woman guarding the spot was already parked – but she was trying to save that space for her mom on Mother’s Day. They were meeting up to eat at the Longhorn restaurant together. When the family pulls in and takes the spot, the woman standing in the spot is clearly frustrated. The family says, “Thank you, Ma’am” to her but she comes after them. She tells them, “We gonna see if we really wanna do something about that.” The driver asks, “Is that a threat?” and she answers, “It is.”
The driver parks in his newly-obtained spot with his family inside the vehicle. He then goes and records her and her license plate in case she tries to do anything to them. They tell her, “It’s a parking spot. It was first come, first serve.” She calls them names and berates them, telling them, “I was standing in it, [expletive].” The argument continues until she pulls away, leaving the family astounded by her cruel behavior.
Commenters poured in to share their reactions after watching the video, which left many people feeling as frustrated as the recording driver. One commenter pointed out, “She did all that for Longhorn.” As another commenter stated, “Standing in a parking spot does not mean you automatically get the parking spot.” And another quipped, “It’s first come first serve with a car. It’s not a standing lot.”
The parking lot war gained hundreds of reactions online. Many viewers continue to express frustration with the situation, noting it never needed to be that serious.
