Nowadays, it is normal to see all manner of things in the street, from unexpected crashes to self-driving vehicles causing mayhem, and the list goes on. And while some of these things tend to cause issues for those on the road, there are a few that take longer to be solved, and even then, the aftermath can cause even more trouble for some citizens. In this case, we’re referring to something that happened in California, more specifically in Fairfax, where a driver noticed that a tree had fallen on the road, blocking traffic. Yet, what surprised them the most was that it seemed authorities hadn’t done anything about it.
Reddit user AnmolTheAnima shared the picture on the Los Angeles subreddit, claiming they saw this tree on the road in Little Ethiopia in Fairfax, California. While there aren’t any details as to what caused the tree to fall on the road, you can clearly see that it has taken almost two lanes, causing a traffic hazard for those driving.
The real shocking part is that, judged by some comments, the tree had been sitting there for quite a long time, as another user said they passed that tree earlier that day. With this information, several people started wondering if there was any urgency by the authorities to do something.
As we stated above, this tree blocking the road is taking up a whole lane and invading another one, meaning that those driving in that direction will either have to stop for a while before passing, which will eventually lead to a traffic jam as cars will get stuck trying to go around the fallen tree.
California Redditors Urges Authorities to Do Something
After many Redditors saw the log-jam, as many have dubbed it now, they also started discussing how authorities have been taking a long time to fix this. And even then, once the tree disappears, some claim that it will take a long time for those in charge to fix the hole.
“And they’ll remove the tree and leave the hole for a few years for pedestrians to stumble into.“
“If they cared enough, they WOOD.“
Others took this situation in a more lighthearted way and decided to throw a few tree-related puns into the mix.
“There is a root cause for this.”
At the time of writing, no one has reported whether authorities took care of the tree, but many commuters hope that someone does something about it soon.
