A photo posted on Reddit attempting to call out a “small conservative town in Florida” for having anti-Trump rhetoric has been accused of being AI-generated. The post was shared on r/pics by Anonanogram, who claimed they saw graffiti inside a bathroom stall that was cursing President Trump. Based on their post’s title, they were eager to spread some Trump hate, but to their dismay, many Redditors believed the photo was fake.
“Has to be AI, I’ve never seen a small town public bathroom that clean. You’re telling me there was no other graffiti?” questioned a commenter, finding OP’s post suspicious. “The writing is far, far too neat for real graffiti. Fake,” remarked another. Despite the many accusations, Anonanogram did not comment or defend themself regarding the use of AI.
Redditors Also Accused OP of ‘Low Effort Ragebait’
Other Redditors were certain that, regardless of whether this photo was using AI, OP was allegedly trying to get upvotes for their post over Trump hate. “God this sub is just so low effort now… Trump Bad now give me 10k karma!” mocked a commenter. “9.9/10 redditorbait,” laughed a second.
Several more simply believed OP wrote the anti-Trump graffiti themself. “Nah, they prompted that,” argued a user. “0/10 for originality,” sighed another.
Anonanogram’s post is just one of many photos circulating r/pics and other subreddits that are nothing more than graffiti or vandalism of private property in the name of denouncing Trump. Of course, there are many who support this sort of petty crime, while a few claim it does nothing but give the protestors a bad look. In Anonanogram’s case, plenty believed they gave themself a bad look from the get-go, based on the low effort of the graffiti and the possibility of AI use.
Ironically, many online users openly criticize MAGA and Trump supporters as “stupid,” while the same users support questionable anti-MAGA behavior, such as graffiti on a gas pump or calls to violence. In the end, the call for civil political discussion is still welcome and needed in the ‘land of free speech,’ though trying to ragebait people with allegedly fake photos or support of vandalism might not be as helpful as some believe.
