A California influencer claims she received a slew of hateful comments after posting a video where she was in tears over the hotel her boyfriend booked. She has since posted a video responding to these comments, calling them over the line. These comments refer to her weight, her mental health, and encourage her boyfriend to leave her.
In the original video, she complained about the loud behavior of children using a public pool. She specifically addresses those who got into the hot tub, where they splashed and bumped into her, until she got so fed up that she left. However, the California woman did not receive sympathy for her feelings. Instead, she was mocked in the comments.
In her response, she includes several comments. “I got nasty, mean, and vile comments.” By this, she is referring to the multiple comments telling her boyfriend to leave her. One of those comments reads, “Hopefully, he picks another girl at the concert.” Another refers to him as a “saint.” A third comment reads, “You’ve got to channel this intensity into working out or something,” while another says, “Shamu yearns for water.” Her response has received nearly 200,000 views.
She claims she has received comments telling her that she needs therapy and saying she has bipolar disorder. She says, “This is the meanest that anyone has ever been to me on the internet.” The woman also claims she has received hateful direct messages and that people have even reached out to her mom. She plans to mute comments on all her videos. The woman argues that she doesn’t need people telling her that she “looks rough for [her] age” nor does she need people “trying to guess [her] weight.”
California Influencer Receives Backhanded Reactions
The California influencer’s response to the comments has received an interesting mix of backhanded reactions. One says, “Don’t listen to all the haters. They’re right, but don’t listen to them.” Another ‘encouraging’ comment reads, “Calling you ‘fat or ugly’ is mean. Are you a lil self-centered, yes, but you’re not ugly.” Another suggests, “I’m going to recommend a journal for these kinds of thoughts and feelings.”
Others have offered advice, such as one who says, “Don’t be hurt when people have opinions about you.” They also talk about how it’s weird she would delete comments or block people. Another suggests she delete the original video, saying, “It’s a bad look, but it doesn’t need to be ur whole legacy.” Another agrees, “If you didn’t want the attention, you would delete the video.”
The California native claims she had no idea the original video would blow up the way it did. However, despite the negative attention, she has no intention of deleting it.
