Even begging couldn’t save one poor Amazon customer in Texas from the incompetence of customer service representatives who seemingly didn’t know what they were doing. Reddit user Dr___Krieger shared his infuriating cycle of insanity with the Amazon team who were supposed to explain why his grocery order was cancelled. Instead, the reps kept shifting the responsibility, sending Krieger from one employee to the next.
“I am convinced that if I kept going they would’ve easily made it to 10 transfers,” Krieger wrote in his r/mildlyinfuriating post. It consisted of several screenshots involving the same loop: an Amazon representative entered chat, claimed another person was better equipped, then transferred Krieger. The next person then did the same, resulting in OP having to deal with four total transfers.
It was after literally begging the reps not to transfer him that he knew this customer service experience was “Reddit material.” And he was right; thousands of people were both just as infuriated but also delighted at such an entertaining back-and-forth with allegedly useless customer service. “I am really sorry for this, but your screenshots literally made me LOL,” laughed a commenter.
“They have got to be trolling you…” a second user sighed. “Indian customer service has always been like this,” added a third, implying that the names of Amazon workers were outsourced employees from India. “Customer service is now a choice between AI or AI. Artificial Intelligence or Always Indians,” remarked a fourth.
After Failing to Get Help from Amazon Customer Service, OP Says He Drove to Go Buy Groceries
Fortunately for Krieger, in the end, he claims he got a refund for his cancelled order. However, it wasn’t because the Amazon reps were of help: he simply gave up. “I’m literally sitting in my wife’s car now with my toddler having finished our Kroger run,” Krieger said. “I conceded. Not proud of it but I did.”
As to whether the endlessly transferring customer service fiasco was of any help to Krieger, he answered, “Spoiler alert No.” At this point, one would have to wonder whether AI would have done a better job.
