Texas Woman Takes Action After Discovering Over 20 Dogs Living in Backyard Bus: ‘It’s Time to Stop Being Nice’

It’s clear she’d do anything to help them

A Texas woman who fosters dogs found dozens of dogs living in adverse conditions in a backyard. She decided to take matters into her own hands. Involving the police was one option, but she also decided to extend a helping hand. Instead of making anonymous reports, she spoke with the dog’s owner and tried to foster a relationship so they could get to the bottom of things.

Staci (@stacifosters) is a true dog lover who would do anything for our furry friends. She discovered that a local dog hoarder was keeping 20+ dogs in her backyard in a broken-down bus with a kennel attached to it. The owner tells Staci that she isn’t looking to give her dogs up and “my dogs go where I go.” Staci tells her, “So I just wanna offer help.” She tries to tell the woman that she has too much on her plate and that she needs to consider finding new homes for all the dogs.

I am trying to build trust and a relationship with her so she will be comfortable with me and hopefully allow me to take some of the dogs. I can see she cares and means well but she doesn’t understand she is doing more harm than good as most of them live in a broken bus in the backyard with busted windows and no ac or spend all day in the kennel – this is dangerous especially going into summer time #dogrescue #rescuedogsoftiktok #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #rescuepuppy

When Staci says this, the woman simply states, “I enjoy doing it” and leaves it at that. It’s clear that she isn’t about to give up any of her dogs, even though they’re living in a broken bus in her backyard. Staci says the woman clearly “cares and means well” but doesn’t understand that she’s “doing more harm than good.” She tries to get the owner to understand that it isn’t giving them a good life when they’re living in a broken bus or spending the entire day in a kennel.

The woman drops a surprise on Staci as she tells her that one of her pure-blooded pitbulls had “puppies.” She tells Staci there are four boys and four girl puppies. Staci decided to take action since it’s clear the owner wasn’t going to just up and surrender her dogs.

Staci did the right thing and decided to involve authorities and do a little investigative work on her own. In an update video, she says that neighbors saw multiple dogs on the property and many dogs would go missing. They soon realized that the owners were hiding the dogs in a trailer, giving them no real access to the outdoors at any point. Staci gets close and personal to the trailer to see what’s going on. She sees a broken-down bus loaded with dogs, as well as a filled kennel. Staci says the entire situation is “so sad” but that she’s doing what she can to help. As she states in her video, “We hope to get them out very soon” with legal help.

Commenters reacted to Staci’s video, with many agreeing that she’s doing the right thing by getting involved. As one commenter stated, “it’s time to stop being nice.” Another gave some solid advice to Staci: “As a vet tech it’s as simple as reaching out to animal control. It may break your ‘trust’ with her but each state and city has a limit for dogs on properties and animal control has full rights to help in this situation. It’s not on you.” Others disagreed with Staci’s involvement, telling her to “mind her business” and stating, “They look happy to me?”

Commenters continue to flood in, thanking Staci for reaching out and extending a helpful hand. They encourage her to not give up on any dogs in need. One commenter begged, “Please don’t stop trying to help them.” Staci plans on keeping an eye on these matters and working with authorities to get justice for all dogs in need.
