A woman in Georgia experienced a traumatic incident after witnessing a shooting at a train station, which left her covered in blood.
The shooting reportedly took place on a MARTA train, directly in front of the woman. She later shared a video after the incident, saying, “I’m so lucky to be alive right now.” She also described how a man was shot right in front of her.
To show what she had experienced, the woman displayed her purse, which was covered in blood. She also had blood on her hand. She said the victim’s blood was visible near her during the shooting as it unfolded in front of her on the train.
“All I could do was just get up and run to the floor,” she said. She described that after seeing blood, she began screaming, “Am I shot? Am I shot?” She then said she got up and ran toward the back of the train car she was in.
The woman also said she began praying and thanking God during the incident, and expressed sympathy for the man who was shot. She said the victim had only just sat down before the shooting occurred, stating, “As soon as he sat down, they shot them.” She added, “I just wanna thank Jesus.” According to Fox 5 Atlanta, police are still searching for the suspect involved in the shooting.
Viewers Sympathize With Georgia Woman After Witnessing Shooting
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed sympathy for the Georgia woman after she described witnessing the shooting. “Baby I think you’re in shock,” one person told her. Another person offered advice, saying, “Therapist here: first, go and stay with somebody you trust whether is family or friends. Do not use any substances (including alcohol) right now as some are depressants. Monday: find a therapist that specializes in trauma. Talk to a doctor about anything that could help with the anxiety while you process the trauma.”
Others criticized the woman for sharing the video on TikTok soon after the incident. This led to many defending her, with one person saying, “All of you all saying ‘she ran to tiktok’ need to realize that for MANY of us our online community is our only community. Give grace, we may be the only people she has to tell.” Another person said, “Yes! Especially for those of us who live here in Atlanta. Now I know how dangerous riding MARTA has become. I’m so glad her guardian angel was watching over her and that she’s safe.”
