While chatting to a woman whose face didn’t appear on camera, the man complained that the recent happenings made him feel like he was not living in the United States anymore. He complained about the number of “Hispanics and minorities,” the fact that a lot of people spoke Spanish around, claiming that “it’s a whole new world.” After a few moments, a Mexican song started to play in the background. As though proving his point, the man laughed, highlighting that this was what he was talking about.
A man posted a longer video on YouTube, giving more context. The YouTuber noted that the man was an umpire in an ongoing softball tournament he attended. At a point in the clip, while making very controversial remarks, the umpire said, “And I’m not prejudiced. I swear to god, I’m not.” The umpire said that the changes in the world were enough to make him want to quit, but at the same time, he was doing the job because of his love for the children.
Outrage And Disgust Erupts Over The Umpire’s Racial Remarks
The online community flooded the comment section, expressing anger and dismay that someone who dealt with children harbored so much hate. A couple of users argued that only a sense of personal misery could produce such behavior. “Aggrieved White people just mad at anything they can zero in on, because life isn’t completely perfect for them,” an annoyed user wrote, pointing out the absurdity of the outrage.
Without mincing words, another user called the umpire out, “MAGA trash.” Referring to the umpire’s claims that he was not prejudiced, a user predicted that he would definitely deny it for as long as he could, while a sarcastic Redditor mocked the contradiction of the umpire’s claims against his actions.
