A mother accused of letting her nine children run rampant in a neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, has been called out on r/AITAH by a neighbor who’s reached her wits’ end. Going by DMoney16 on Reddit, this neighbor has shared quite heinous stories of what this negligent mom allows her kids to do on a regular basis, without supervision. In one instance, DMoney16 recalls how awfully these trouble-making youngsters are treating their immigrant neighbors.
While working from home one day, DMoney16 claims she heard crying and yelling outside and was quite shocked at what she discovered. “I stick my head outside to make sure no one is hurt, and I see this same boy with multiple siblings beating the [expletive] out of the sweet immigrant kids a few doors down, and then stealing their toys and running home with them,” she recalled in horror.
It wasn’t a day before that these same children were coming onto her property and harassing her pet dog and cat with bats and balls. DMoney16 claims to have encountered the kids’ mother, who also exhibits troublesome behavior. “She huffs and scoffs at me whenever she notices me existing in my home or my yard,” OP wrote, explaining how she has never consented to this mom over letting her children run around wreaking havoc on her patio and around her house.
Unfortunately, the landlord isn’t of much help, as DMoney16 claims they demand “video evidence” of the children being a nuisance and that the space around her yard is “communal” for the kids to prowl about in. “I’m at my wits’ end here,” OP groans, and the Redditors in her comment section don’t blame her.

“Call the police and CPS. These kids need to be supervised,” remarked a commenter, who suggested OP get the authorities involved every time the children are running about unsupervised. “This is neglect. This is how kids wind up lost and taken,” the user explained. The reason getting police involved is so important is that DMoney16 will allegedly bear responsibility if any of the children get hurt on her property.
Other users chime in, expressing the same sentiment: OP needs to call the police, get security cameras, and take the kids’ unacceptable behavior more seriously. “This is only going to escalate as they get older and become even more delinquent,” one person wrote. “This is not kids will be kids. This is irresponsible parenting,” remarked another.
While DMoney16 hasn’t gotten back to commenters about how she plans to tackle the kids allegedly terrorizing her neighborhood, her responses show she’s got the right mindset. “Some neighbors are sick to death of this behavior, others think those of us who are a bit concerned are just being karens,” she wrote in consideration of calling CPS and the cops. If her dog can’t even be let out to roam her yard in peace, Reddit agrees that something drastic will eventually need to be done.
