A Minnesota woman says she’s breaking her lease and moving after a dispute with a neighbor escalated into a police call and a response from their shared landlord that left her feeling unsupported. The TikToker says the issue all stems from a habit many people can probably relate to: sitting in her car for a while after getting home from work.
The woman shared two TikToks about the incident. One video shows a brief confrontation with the neighbor. While a second video provides more context about what led up to it.
According to Minnesota TikToker @biggbankieee, the problems began before police were ever called. She claims the neighbor had previously approached her while she was sitting in her car, questioning why she had been there so long and asking if everything was okay. The woman says she found the interaction strange but brushed it off at the time.
Things came to a head after she returned home from work one night and remained in her driveway talking on the phone. While sitting in her vehicle, the neighbor allegedly approached her and demanded that she go inside. Biggbankieee told the neighbor to leave her alone, but then the woman informed her that she would be calling the police.
The officers arrived and spoke with both women before leaving without taking any action. Biggbankieee later reported the incident to their shared landlord. While she says he described calling the police as an “extreme” reaction, she was caught off guard when he added that he would also find it annoying if someone regularly sat in their car outside.
That comment proved to be the final straw. The TikToker says she has decided to move out altogether. She says she plans to break her lease rather than remain at the property.
Tik Tok Has Thoughts
The majority of commenters said they could relate to sitting in their cars for a while before going inside after work, with many saying it was a common way to decompress after a long day. Some couldn’t believe the neighbor felt entitled to intervene at all.“You were sitting in your car and she came next door to tell you that you can’t sit in your car?!” one user wrote.Another added, “I’d ask if I can file a report for harassment. They’re getting out of hand now. Worried about what’s going on at YOUR home is crazy.”
Others encouraged the TikToker to take the situation further.“Talk to an attorney about sending a letter to your landlord explaining that your racist neighbor has created a hostile living situation,” one commenter suggested. Race also became a major point of discussion for many viewers.“So sorry this happened to you. Some people will not change. The hatred some keep goes so deep,” one user wrote. Another commenter speculated, “Let me guess, the woman officer and your neighbor are white…”
Others simply wished Biggbankieee the best as she prepares to move. “I‘m glad you are standing your ground and setting that example for your son! I hope you guys find an even better home in the near future where you can enjoy your car time,” one commenter wrote.
For many viewers, the situation felt like a textbook case of someone refusing to mind their own business. The incident also sparked a larger conversation about who gets viewed as suspicious, disruptive, or out of place while doing ordinary things in their own neighborhood.
