A couple of Texas families embroiled in drama led to a confrontation at a local pool, with one mother accusing another mother of being racist. After all this time and the comments she’s had to hear, she said “enough is enough!”
Posted by TikTok user Ticky0219, Kayla, the video starts with Kayla arguing with the mother of her children’s friends. Apparently, they’ve been making racist comments toward her kids and she’s tired of it. One of the friends calls Kayla’s kid a slur, and their mom tries to explain, “Well, they’re Black,” as if that’s a perfectly acceptable reason. Kayla responds with, “I know they’re Black! They’re not gonna change their skin color for you or nobody else.”
Kayla goes off on the mother, telling her and the other kids to “leave her kids alone.” She then says, “This is my last time telling you.” At this point, the woman tells Kayla she’s going to call management on her. Kayla urges her, “Call them. Please call them!” Kayla even tells the mother to take it a step further and get the police involved. She tells the mom she’s tired of her “profiling” her kids and making them feel badly about their skin color.
Kayla then walks away from the scene and waits off to the side to see what happens. However, the confrontation happens off to the side, with Kayla telling the woman, “You’re too [expletive] grown” to be harassing young children. Kayla records the woman as she gets out of the pool and speaks with an elderly employee. She tells them she’ll be back to speak with management because “this has gotten out of hand.”
At the end of the video, Kayla tells off the children in the pool, then berates their mother in front of them before leaving. She posted multiple update videos regarding the situation, including one where she confronts the children for being racist toward her kids, but they deny it ever happened.
The Internet reacts to Kayla’s TikTok video of racism
With hundreds of comments on Kayla’s TikTok video, people had nothing remotely nice to say about the other mother (other than her bathing suit being “cute,” but even that didn’t escape people’s ire). Of course, there was also talk of seeking discrimination charges.
Kayla liked one of the comments that reads, “Document and report file complaint and resolution. ASAP racial discrimination report towards children.” A few urged Kayla to do the same. “I wouldn’t of left! Let them leave,” a commenter wrote in one of Kayla’s secondary videos. She responded that they did leave. The situation was getting very tense by then.
Many resorted to making fun of the mother’s appearance and the children’s ‘privilege.’ Others saw it as a sign that they shouldn’t worry too much about how they’d look in a bathing suit after all.
Kayla posted several updates soon after, one of which includes the other family showing up at their camping lot to confront her. According to Kayla, she had to “leave work” because of the confrontation. “I can’t file a harassment charge because this is a gated community,” Kayla says after she contacted the local police. It’s very clear this neighborhood battle isn’t about to end anytime soon.
