A rescued duck in New York has melted hearts after finally meeting her new flock at an animal sanctuary. The touching moment, captured on video, shows Nanci enthusiastically greeting the other ducks after recovering from a difficult ordeal.

The video comes by way of @woodstocksanctuary, a New York-based animal sanctuary that provides lifelong care for rescued farm animals. According to the sanctuary, Nanci had been hit by a car before being found by teenagers who began harassing her. So badly injured that she could no longer walk, she was eventually brought to safety by someone who cared for her, treated her injuries, and helped nurse her back to health before she was transferred to the sanctuary.

If this doesn’t brighten your day, we don’t know what will: rescued duck Nanci finally meets the rest of the rescued duck crew here at the Sanctuary 😍 All her testing came back clear and she was okayed to join the big duck barn. Muscovies are VERY vocal ducks, and Nanci dove right into the conversation with everyone. It’s so sweet watching new friendships form! Nanci’s story: Nanci was hit by a car and then found by teenagers who started harassing her. She was so injured she couldn’t walk. We can’t imagine how scared this sweet little duck was in that situation. Fortunately someone who cared was able to get her to safety. They cared for her, treated her injuries, and made sure she got healthy again. They wished they could continue caring for Nanci, but did not have the space to keep her. Luckily we had room to welcome this brave little girl ❤️

In the clip, Nanci can be seen waddling into her new home, where she’s greeted by a large flock of fellow Muscovy ducks. Known for being highly social and vocal, the ducks quickly begin chattering among themselves, with Nanci appearing to eagerly join the conversation. As the sanctuary’s caption aptly puts it: “Lots to talk about!” Judging by all the chatter, Nanci doesn’t seem to have had any trouble settling in with her new flock.

The heartwarming clip soon spread across TikTok, where thousands of viewers couldn’t get enough of Nanci’s long-awaited introduction to her new flock. Many admitted the touching reunion had them reaching for the tissues.
