In a viral video that has the internet debating who the ‘bad guy’ is, a Georgia woman and police officer got into a heated argument. While driving her usual route to work, she was pulled over for allegedly speeding.
The woman in the video and the original poster, TikTok user 9atienc3, says she had been driving on the Georgia interstate. According to her, she had only been driving 5 miles over the speed limit, which she says is allowed where she’s from. Unfortunately, this was at the same time she was being tailed by another car. Unbeknownst to her, it was an undercover cop.
Patience had shared that she was speeding up to get out of the cop’s way. In the video of the confrontation, the officer approaches her and claims she was “going 100” miles per hour at the time. Additionally, he says she was “all over the bumper of several cars.”
She immediately goes on the defensive, asking him why he had been tailing her the entire time. The two scream back and forth at each other until he safely approaches her from her other window. While she defends her stance, he yells at her, “You’re fixing to go to jail…”
Patience eventually says she’s “pregnant” and in disbelief he’d follow her closely. He responds with, “I don’t care if you’re pregnant.” She asks him if he wants to continue this or take her to jail, and he says, “I don’t know right now.” She screams at him, “Well figure it out!” To this, he goes completely silent and enters a staring contest with her.
When the police officer takes her ID and registration back to his vehicle, Patience speaks to her audience about becoming “emotional” during the confrontation. In addition to not knowing he was an undercover cop, Patience accuses the cop of intentionally riding her bumper just to get her to speed up and ultimately pull her over. She says she’d like to see the dash cam footage.
After Patience is given a citation, she does try to apologize for getting so heated. The cop responds with, “You snapped all over me for absolutely no reason.” More bickering ensues before Patience cuts him off and gets ready to pull away.
The Internet sides with Patience in the comments
Unsurprisingly, the hundreds of comments were in favor of Patience, agreeing the cop was in the wrong. Many commenters also tried to give Patience legal advice based on their personal experience.
“Take it to court. Go request the dashcam,” one of the top comments wrote. “Unmarked cars can’t do traffic stops. I got this exact citation kicked. Hired a lawyer went to court: dismissed!” another commenter claimed, without citing Georgia law.
Some argued none of what the cop was doing added up. “He DEF wldve arrested her if she was going 100mph, it wldve made his day. she wasnt going 100, he exaggerated just to ‘threaten her’ with jail.” A TikTok user claiming to be a cop even chimed in, saying, “He was in the wrong. Dispute that ticket in court.”
Patience has shared that this experience has made her “smarter” about the road, especially when someone’s tailing her. “I’m glad he that wasn’t ‘one of those’—that was ready to rip me out of the vehicle…” she admits.
