Washington Man Calls Out Salon Over Kids’ Bad Haircuts: ‘I Thought It Was a Prank at First’

He asked for a fade, they gave him a fail.

A Washington creator is going viral after confronting a salon over what he believed were two botched children’s haircuts. According to the video’s caption, the boys had just gotten their hair cut. With their parents shopping, they were left to argue over a partial refund. Believing the cuts were unacceptable, the creator stepped in and demanded the salon return all of their money.

In the video posted to TikTok by @perravidda, the creator confronts a stylist standing in the doorway of the salon over what he believes are two unacceptable haircuts. “They need a whole refund,” he says. “You call these haircuts? These aren’t haircuts.” As the situation escalates, a security guard approaches and asks him to step outside to continue the conversation.

According to a follow-up comment from another user, the salon initially refunded $20 of the family’s $45 bill, and the creator was trying to help them recover the remaining $25. The same commenter also claimed another barber later offered to fix one of the boys’ haircuts for free.

Washington Citizens React

Overall, most commenters agreed the family deserved a full refund, with many calling the haircuts unacceptable and encouraging them to report the Washington salon to the state cosmetology board or dispute the charge with their bank.

“No way that person is licensed. Report them to state board. You should have at the very least been able to get a refund,” one commenter wrote.

While another argued the stylists should find a new profession altogether, writing, “Those ladies need a new career. Haircutting ain’t for them. I’d be more firm in demanding a full refund and say if they refuse, you’re going to file a complaint against their cosmetology license.”

Some couldn’t believe how bad the cuts looked. “I thought it was a prank at first cuz ain’t no way,” one user joked, while another simply added, “That’s criminal.”

A smaller group felt the situation could have been avoided by taking the boys to a barbershop instead of a salon, especially if they wanted fades. “To be completely honest I’m not siding with the guard or the shop but you should know… never take them to a salon if you want a nice fade,” one commenter wrote.

Others focused less on what should have been done and more on fixing the problem. “Just put a bad review & take him to get it fixed,” one user suggested.

It seems many viewers agreed the boys deserved a full refund. Others simply empathized with the frustration of a bad haircut.
