A Texas woman was at a buffet trying to enjoy her meal when a woman kept invading her personal space. Finally, she had enough and called her out. In a hilarious turn of events, unconnected to her confrontation, the police were eventually called, and the customer was removed.
On TikTok, user Marztrip.kira had recorded a two-part confrontation she had with another woman at a buffet. She points to the elderly lady seated at the same booth, but at a different table. There was plenty of space between them, but, according to Kira, the lady sat as close as possible.
Kira said she “put her arm on my table.” She asks what’s wrong with this woman, saying she’s “pissing me off.” And she even went as far as to call the woman out. Despite the language barrier, the lady seemed to understand and kept her distance.
However, that was the end of the confrontation. Unbeknownst to Kira, the police had been called, but not on her. As she tells her audience, “Obviously this lady was causing problems before I even came.” In her second video, she gets front-row tickets to police arriving on scene.
Kira leans in and tells her audience, “I thought she called the police on me about the incident. They got a translator and they’re telling her that the establishment doesn’t want her to come back and wants her to leave.” Kira explains she doesn’t know what happened before she arrived, but obviously it was enough to warrant a police interaction and throw her out of the restaurant.
How viewers are reacting to Kira’s TikTok video
In addition to giving Kira props for standing up for herself and the hilarious predicament the customer got herself into, bad actors were looking to stir the pot with racism.
“Black culture is hilarious,” one commenter wrote. A second viewer responded, saying, “👊🏼🤣👍🏼 hilarious and stupid at the same time!” Another viewer fired back, saying, “Small meat people like your are even funnier.”
One commenter suggested the lady was attempting an “intimidation strategy” to get Kira to move. “Glad you stood your ground,” they added. Though another commenter suggested it might be a culture difference. “She might come from a place where people are used to being much closer together,” and to give the lady the “benefit of the doubt.”
Still, personal space is personal space, especially at a restaurant. If she was already causing problems for other people, Kira was just one of several victims, regardless of how unthreatening it was.
