While many might be sticking to leveling up Emma and Koo’s skills, there is yet another progression system in Beast of Reincarnation you’ll want to focus on, and that’s the rapport with Koo. This system might not be available at first, but you’ll soon discover that certain actions increase your affinity with your faithful companion. How Does Rapport Work in Beast of Reincarnation
During the first minutes of Beast of Reincarnation, you might notice that certain actions increase your rapport with Koo. However, you won’t get any way to track it or even know what the benefit of increasing said system is until you defeat the first boss and unlock some features back at base.
After the first trip to the Walker, you’ll get the tutorial on how rapport works, and well, it is basically a secondary progression bar that increases whenever you act nice to Koo. To increase it, you can do any of the following things:
- Feed Koo (eating as Emma will also feed Koo and increase rapport with him)
- Bathe Koo (you can do this after returning to the Walker for the first time)
- Pet Koo (same as above)
While increasing rapport with Koo is quite easy, as reaching level 3 won’t take long, you can also lose rapport, and that happens whenever you perish in combat. However, your rapport rank won’t decrease. For instance, if you’re at rank 3 and keep dying, your rapport won’t go down to rank 2.
As for what the benefits are, well, besides gaining the ability to pet a blighted dog, you also unlock new slots for Koo’s Items. You can then set items in these slots, and Koo will use them automatically if they are available. Keep in mind that if Koo runs out of items to use, he’ll stick to attacking and defending only, as well as using the skills you tell him to when in combat.
