A white boy in Maryland pulled a fake gun on a woman before yelling racial slurs at a black police officer.
The incident reportedly happened at a Dollar Tree store in Baltimore. The boy allegedly ran into a woman while carrying a fake gun, prompting a police officer at the store to intervene and attempt to apprehend him. The video shared online was filmed by the same woman who the boy reportedly ran into.
The video showed the officer holding the boy’s arms as he continued struggling to get free. As he resisted, the boy repeatedly called the cop the n-word. “[N-word] you are not even a real cop,” he kept saying. The woman appeared shocked by his language and asked the boy who he thought he was talking to.
“You don’t call him the n-word,” the woman told the boy. She then added that he had run into her and was “lucky” that he did not get hit. Another employee asked the woman to walk away, but she explained that the boy had run into her while carrying a fake gun. The fake gun was seen in the employee’s possession at that point. “Because he’s crazy,” the woman said as the boy continued struggling against the officer.
The officer began leading the boy away as he continued using the racial slur and cursing at him. The boy also repeated his claim that the officer was not a real cop, prompting the officer to tell him that he was. The video then showed the boy lying on the ground while the officer continued trying to apprehend him.
A man at the scene then showed the woman a video on his phone that appeared to show the same boy at another store while allegedly carrying the fake gun. The video had apparently gained attention online, prompting the woman to say that the boy was going to “end up dead.” She then told the man that the boy had scared her and that he had “slammed” into her while carrying the fake gun.
Another part of the video showed the boy continuing to struggle as the officer told him to stop. The boy then demanded that the officer and employees give him back his phone. As he continued resisting, the woman told him, “You need guidance.” The video ended shortly afterward, and it is unclear what happened to the boy following the incident.
Viewers Outraged Over Maryland Boy’s Behavior at Dollar Tree
The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed outrage after seeing the Maryland boy’s behavior at the store and his use of the racial slur. Several commenters blamed his parents for his actions. “That’s a reflection of his parents,” one person wrote. Another agreed, saying, “Exactly. Cause my kid would do this one and would be an upstanding citizen moving forward.”
More viewers criticized the boy and accused him of racism. “Proof that racism still exist and it definitely starts at home,” one person wrote. Others discussed how the boy’s race might have affected how the situation was handled, with one commenter saying, “if he was a black kid he would’ve been in cuffs. No questions asked. Sad [expletive].” Someone else praised the officer, writing, “Thank God for black officers who have enough emotional intelligence and integrity to not hurt a child based off racial bias‼! Good job officer.”
The video sparked a broader conversation about how some young boys may engage in reckless or inappropriate behavior to create content and gain attention online. It also led to discussion about the responsibility parents have to intervene and teach their children better behavior before their actions potentially lead to serious consequences.
