A TikTok content creator was in the midst of making a new video when she was suddenly approached by a passing stranger. The Texas man quickly made the situation uncomfortable with his increasingly persistent questions.
Creator Bri (TikTok/.imbossbri) had captured the conversation on video while she had been doing her job making a video showcasing products. A man approached Bri innocently enough by asking if she needed help.
Bri shares in her TikTok video that her intuition told her the conversation wouldn’t be a good one. The man tells her she “seems familiar” and she tells him she’s just trying to record a video. According to Bri, he became less “just nice” and the conversation progressively got weirder for her.
Bri tries to keep her conversation with him short and sweet, quickly answering his questions about her work in brief statements. Not taking the hint, the man asks if Bri needed a drink. At one point he even stated, “It’s kinda wild you out here by yourself.”
To this, she answers, “Um, it’s my job. I’m working.” Then, he tries complimenting her on her hair and her outfit. The man finally catches on that Bri doesn’t want to have a conversation and walks away.
By the end, a second man appeared and the genuine interaction was immediately apparent. Upon asking if Bri was okay, Bri claimed that the first stranger had admitted to not wanting to come off as “creepy.” Additionally, she claims he also admitted to being “celibate.”
Bri’s audience online was just as creeped out
In response to Bri’s video, viewers were sympathetic and supportive. The off-putting nature of the creepy man was intensely focused on. They agreed Bri was right to be weary of the stranger.
“Sometimes being polite just doesn’t work,” argued a commenter. Another viewer felt that Bri being confrontational the man would only get more “violent.”
Responding to a commenter that said the second concerned man had restored her “hope in humanity,” Bri shared the creepy exchanged didn’t dampen her spirit. “I choose to believe there is definitely more good than bad,” Bri wrote.
Others offered advice to Bri, one of whom suggested a way of ending these uncomfortable conversations in the future. She wrote, “TIP: ending every sentence with, OK HAVE A GOOD DAY, very fast and firm and monotone, will help them stop faster.”
What was clear is Bri’s viewers were quick to point out how creepy some men could be, despite initially coming off as polite.
