‘Getting Banned From a Bakery Is Crazy’: South Carolina Bakery Owner Bans Customer for ‘Bad Attitude’

I wouldn’t allow that level of disrespect, either

A South Carolina bakery owner has never had to ban anybody from her bakery before. That is, until now. Recently, a customer came into her bakery and mistreated her workers. She wasn’t about to stand for that. She defended them by banning the woman from the shop when she recognized trouble.

GG (@sweetggsbakery) owns a bakery in Cola, South Carolina. She said she had a long day and explains that she had to ban a customer from her shop. She shows a picture of the woman on screen, who she caught on video saying and doing some things that concerned her. The woman arrived with two friends at the bakery.

One thing I will always do is defend our hard work and reputation. Don’t come in here sideways and we won’t have any problems, but please know I always have time when it comes to the bakery. Point blank, period. #bakery #customerservice #cake #business #fyp

According to GG, the woman kept going on and on to the workers about how she didn’t want “old, stale cake” and wanted her cake to be “fresh.” GG thought this was odd, as the woman said she never came to the bakery before and was never served a bad cake there.

GG explained how the woman brought a “weird energy” to her shop and was giving the cashier a hard time. She came out to assist the employee, who was trying to appease the woman. You can hear the cashier telling her, “It’s not old… But I’ll get you one off the top.”

The woman’s friend tried to calm down the situation and begged GG, “Please don’t ban her” for her behavior. GG laughs at this but then tells them, “I will. I’ll print that picture out and put it right there. ‘No service.’” She then tells the woman that they don’t “sell old cakes” so she isn’t sure what the problem is.

But that wasn’t the end of the weird behavior and drama. When the cashier wasn’t looking, the woman took the piece of cake that was given to her. She opened it and broke a hunk of it off, eating it. She hadn’t even paid for the slice of cake yet. GG asks, “What if she didn’t like it?” She already took a bite and didn’t pay for it, so it would have been a loss for her company. She says to her audience, “Don’t bring that energy back up in the bakery. You’re not welcome. You can go get your cake at a grocery store.”

The video immediately sparked reactions from those who saw the viral video. One commenter stated, “Getting banned from a bakery is crazy.” Another commended GG and stated, “Love when owners stand up for their employees!” One commenter suggested, “She’s extremely jealous of your successful business… That’s it, that’s all!” Commenters continue to share their reactions and opinions on GG’s video. They also show support for her business and what she’s built over the years.
