A black family in Missouri accused a store security guard of racism after they were banned from the store.

The security guard shared a video showing the family standing in front of him inside the store. A man was also with the family, and the guard said he had been banned from the store. “He just doesn’t need to come back in,” the guard told the family.

The family then began arguing with the security guard as they appeared to leave the store. “Who are you? You are a security guard. You are no one,” one of the women told him. The guard responded by reiterating that the man would not be allowed back inside. “He’s still not going to be able to come into the store,” he said.

The family continued arguing with the security guard, prompting him to tell them, “Then go to another store. Why are you in here creating a scene?” The same woman responded, “Because we want to.” The guard then told the family they were banned from the store and would not be allowed to return. “I can ban all of you. That’s my job,” he said.

“You can’t do nothing,” the woman challenged the security guard. He disagreed and told the family that it was time for them to leave. The second part of the video showed the family outside the store, where they continued arguing with the guard. “You guys can’t act like adults,” he told them.

The guard then addressed the man he had banned and clarified that he did not personally have a problem with him. He added that he had spoken with the man outside the store multiple times in the past. The family continued raising their voices as they argued with the guard, prompting him to repeat that they did not know how to act like adults.

“You guys are like kids, man. It’s crazy,” the guard told them. The man from the family then accused the security guard of being “racist.” The video ended with the guard responding, “I know. I know. It’s always about racism.” It is unclear what happened after the video ended or whether the family made any formal allegations against the security guard or the store.

Viewers Criticize Black Missouri Family After Racism Accusation

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers criticized the black Missouri family over their behavior and their accusation that the security guard was racist. “Here we go again,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “I’ve noticed every time someone is called out for bad behavior, the first thing they scream is, ‘You’re racist,’ because you called out their bad behavior.”

More viewers continued criticizing the family, with some arguing that the security guard was too patient during the confrontation. “Your mistake was trying to reason with them,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “They are the racist ones by far!” Someone else added, “Those people are always making a simple situation 1000 times harder. Always making a big fuss about nothing.”

The video sparked a broader conversation about the difficult situations security guards can face when banning someone from an establishment. It also led to discussion about how accusations of discrimination can sometimes arise during confrontations, with some viewers arguing that such claims should be supported by evidence rather than used to avoid accountability for unrelated behavior.
