Today has been yet another controversial day for the Trump administration. Apparently, a new study by the HHS allegedly says that “gender ideology,” which is a term many right-wing members use and the LGBTQ+ community rejects, could lead to the justification of political violence. This study, which some say relies on dubious sources and questionable methods, has already angered many people, and many believe it is just another baseless claim from this administration.
The controversial study, which has already become viral all over Reddit and sites like Transitics have covered, allegedly claims that being part of the trans community or being a trans ally could potentially lead to political violence.
The study created the Clinical Gender Affirmation Scale (CGAS for short) to evaluate if those with “gender ideology” were associated with left-wing authoritarianism. Furthermore, the study evaluated over 1,000 people through CloudResearch Connect, which many believe is not the ideal way to conduct a study or evaluation.
Finally, the study focused on three questions: “How strongly do CGAS and other gender ideology-related beliefs correlate with LWA?” “Does LWA predict CGAS and other gender ideology-related beliefs over and above political identity, or is LWA just a proxy for being liberal?” and “Do CGAS and LWA predict support for political violence?”

“People who strongly endorse gender ideology positions score dramatically higher on left-wing authoritarianism than their political identity alone would predict. Furthermore, both LWA and CGAS predicted support for political violence.“
With all of this information out, the trans community, as well as many other people across America, felt angry, insulted, and frustrated.
Many Americans Furious Over Recent HHS Study
As soon as the study went out and found its way to several social media channels, people started sharing their thoughts on it, with many saying that the claims, study, and results were baseless and just intended to target the trans community, as well as its supporters.
“Only thing this proves is the right will do anything to stir up people.“
Others even said that those on the right have been involved in more violent situations, and that some of their claims are wrong.
“Never seen trans allies attack Congress.“
“You think they’re violent? Wait till you see the videos of people having tantrums in the Capitol when their candidate didn’t win an election.“
As you can see, many people are criticizing the study, with some not taking it seriously because of its sources and how it obtained its data.
