A North Carolina woman searching for her missing son claims that police threatened to arrest her if she kept looking into the case.

The woman shared a video she filmed after leaving the Burlington Police Department in Alamance County. She said her son has been missing since December 4, 2024, and that she has been searching for him ever since. She claimed that police have refused to provide her with information about her son’s case.

“They won’t tell me anything about my son’s case,” the woman claimed. She added that police repeatedly told her they did not know where her son was. According to the woman, authorities said the only information they had was that her son disappeared while sitting at a stoplight. She also claimed that police later found the car he had been driving in the woods, with blood throughout the vehicle. At the time, she said authorities told her they had not found her son.

The woman then made a serious claim that left people outraged. She alleged that the police department told her she would be arrested if she continued looking into her son’s case. “I don’t think that’s fair,” she added. She then said, “You’re gonna arrest a mother that is looking for her missing son? At this point, I’m outraged. I’m frustrated. I don’t know what to do.”

The heartbroken mother continued explaining that she had reached out to everyone she could for help. She claimed that she also contacted an SBI agent, but said he had not returned her calls. “He’s an ex Burlington police officer, so why is he even on my son’s case?” she asked.

The woman added that she had allegedly discovered her son was not entered into the department’s missing person database. “What is really going on? Where is my son?” she asked. “I need answers, and my son deserves justice and answers as well,” she then added.

The woman made further allegations, claiming that the detective assigned to her son’s case had been sending her calls to voicemail for three months. “If I call him right now, my call will go to voicemail,” she said. She added that no one was providing her with information and that the only response she had received was that authorities did not know where her son was.

The woman then mentioned the alleged threat made by the police department once again. “I’ll go to jail, which I think that’s [expletive],” she said. She ended her video by saying, “What’s going on? Something ain’t right.” The mother’s claims remain unverified.

Viewers Outraged Following North Carolina Woman’s Claims

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers were shocked and outraged after hearing the North Carolina woman’s claims. Some went as far as alleging that the police department was involved in her son’s disappearance. “THATS BECAUSE THEY DID IT‼‼!” one person alleged. Another person agreed, saying, “ABSOLUTELY RIGHT‼‼!”

More people criticized the police department, with some also offering the woman advice on what they believed she should do. “They can’t arrest you for looking into your son’s case that’s not legal. Go to the news go to the news,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Hire a private investigator‼‼” Someone else claimed, “Blood everywhere and there’s no investigation? Yeah they’re covering for someone.”

The mother’s claims prompted discussion about the support families of missing people should receive from law enforcement while searching for answers. It also raised questions about how allegations of threats made by police officers or departments should be taken seriously and independently reviewed, particularly when a family member says they were discouraged from seeking information about a missing loved one.
