Florida Residents Blame Pilot After Amazon Cargo Plane Crash Kills 5: ‘We All Know That Pilot Messed Up’

It could’ve been avoided

Yesterday, an Amazon Air cargo plane crashed on the runway at Miami International Airport in Florida. While the news has already circulated all across the globe, people are still shocked, especially since the unfortunate incident resulted in five casualties. Now, people are shifting their focus to the why and who, with the latter being today’s topic. While the runway didn’t have the necessary safety measures, many still believe that the crew, especially the pilot, weren’t careful enough, which led to this unfortunate accident.

Many more details about yesterday’s plane accident in Florida have come to light, and news outlets all across the state have been sharing information on it. One of the recent discoveries is that, according to the FAA, Miami International Airport lacks the Engineered Material Arresting System (EMAS), which, in theory, could have prevented the accident, as it is designed “to help stop an aircraft that overruns the runway end.”

While the above is certainly alarming, especially since that technology could have potentially prevented the incident, many still think otherwise.

After seeing the footage, people from all over Florida have shared their thoughts, with the majority blaming the pilot. Some have even said that the landing was already bad, and that even with EMAS, the plane would have still met its unfortunate fate. Again, this is all speculation by Reddit users, and many are still waiting for more details regarding the accident.

Florida Residents Claim the Pilot is the Main Culprit

At the time of writing, those who are still looking at the news and sharing their thoughts on social media believe that it was the pilot the one who caused the incident, with many even claiming that the whole crew was at fault.

“Yeah, to put it in context, we have had 767-400 land at LGA with ease. This was a botched landing; they should have just done the go-around.“

“I love to criticize Miami’s institutions as much as the next guy, but I’ve seen the video. We all know that pilot messed up.“

Others even blamed Amazon, saying that the company allegedly requires its pilots and crew from cargo planes to do the job as fast as possible, similar to other delivery-type jobs.

“This. At this point, it seems to be a classic example of ‘get-there-itis’ mixed with probably some pressure from corporate/leadership to arrive on time, per other Amazon contract pilots I know.“

Right now, all that remains is to wait for more details. Yet, many on the internet still think that someone needs to be held accountable for the situation.
