‘How Can You Think We’d Be on Ur Side?’: North Carolina Women’s Clash With Man at Walmart Turns Internet Against Them

This could’ve been a two-second interaction

This week, a Walmart parking lot in Leland, North Carolina, became the center of a heated dispute after a man confronted a woman for taking the wrong route while driving through the property. A bystander filmed the incident and posted it to TikTok, claiming the man had already “lost his cool” on several others before getting into it with the woman.

Welcome to the sweet sweet hospitable South folks. Here we see another beautiful display of toxic masculinity… refreshing isn’t it?🥰 #nc #werefull #brunswickcountync #everydaymoments #walmartfinds

The bystander alleged that before she began recording, the man had hit a parked vehicle while cutting through the lot. According to her, that incident had already set him off, and seeing the woman driving in the wrong direction only seemed to make him more upset.

In the video, the man stood beside the woman’s white car as the two went back and forth. He repeatedly told her she was “going the wrong way,” while she responded that he was being rude and could have simply told her what she was doing wrong instead of speaking to her the way he did.

The woman filming also called the man out over his behavior, telling him he was making a “scene” and that he needed to “step off.”

The man continued to argue his point, but slowly began to move away from the women before the clip cut out

Although the person filming clearly believed the man’s reaction was out of line, many viewers felt she should not have defended the other woman since she had been driving in the wrong direction in the first place.

“So she’s going the wrong way, and y’all mad at him thats crazy,” one commenter wrote. “If you Follow the road signs this would’ve never happened…. they are painted on the asphalt as well,” another said. Someone else added, “I’m laughing.. how can you think we’d be on ur side lol.”

Some were even skeptical of the bystander’s claim that the man had hit another vehicle.

“If he hit a parked car, why aren’t the police there?” one person asked. “Hit a parked car? that is not what is shown in the video, but ahhkay,” another remarked. A third requested evidence, writing, “Instead of telling us that he did it, do you have pictures to support your claim?” A fourth claimed “they’re trying to change the story” to benefit their narrative.

Still, some viewers thought both things could be true. The woman was going the wrong way, and the man’s reaction was unnecessary.

“She was going the wrong way. Does it happen, yes. Did he have to do all of that, absolutely not,” a comment read. Another said, “He’s not traffic police. Get into your vehicle and go home sir.”

The bystander later posted a follow-up video addressing the criticisms. She acknowledged outright that the woman had been driving the wrong way, but said her issue was with the way the man handled it.

She also doubled down on her claim that he had hit a parked vehicle before the recording began and said viewers were missing part of the story because she hadn’t arrived in time to film everything.
