A distraught mom has shared the horrifying ordeal her daughter allegedly endured just weeks after leaving home for college, claiming the girl was assaulted by her former boyfriend before being kept from contacting her family or seeking medical attention for hours. The mother detailed the incident, which happened in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area, in a series of TikTok videos that have since drawn more than a million views.
According to the mom, her daughter had recently received a full-ride college scholarship and had only moved away three weeks earlier. She alleged that the assault happened when her daughter met up with the young man and some of his friends away from her college campus.
While riding in a car, the ex-boyfriend allegedly became intoxicated and punched her in the mouth. The mother claimed the blow was so severe that one of her daughter’s teeth went through her lip, leaving a hole in her face.
She further alleged that the young man then put his finger into the wound and repeatedly slammed her daughter’s head against the car window.
Although her daughter begged to be let out of the vehicle, the other people inside reportedly would not allow her to leave.
Mom Claims Daughter Was Held for Hours After Attack
The group later arrived at the ex-boyfriend’s family home, and there, the mother claimed her injured daughter was made to change out of her bloodied clothes and was not immediately given access to her phone to contact her father or 911, or otherwise seek medical attention.
She claimed her daughter was held against her will inside the family’s home for approximately four hours while bleeding from her injured mouth. She also alleged that the young man’s mother told her daughter she needed to come up with a story about what happened before going to the emergency room.
According to the mom, her daughter eventually told the woman she would say she had gotten into a fight in an effort to get her phone back. She later managed to leave the home, contact her father, and meet him at a gas station, where police became involved.
The mom said the ex-boyfriend was arrested afterward.
Viewers Were Horrified by the Mom’s Story
People on the internet expressed outrage over the Pennsylvania college student’s alleged assault. In the comments under the TikTok post, one person said, “Omg Mama I would have DESTROYED THEM!!! Im so sorry for your babygirl!!!” Another wrote, “That is horrible. I’m angry just hearing the story, I can only imagine how you feel.”
“This is sickening….put that mother in jail as well as the perpetrator,” a third commented. “Those friends in the car also need to be held accountable,” a fourth added.
Some Pennsylvania residents even offered to physically show support for the family. “I am from Pittsburgh…. where we going??? u have an army behind u mamma. this is sickening,” one resident stated. Another asked, “My husband is an army veteran and we live in Pennsylvania. So where in Pennsylvania would you like us both to show up too?” Someone else chimed in, “We ride at dawn for your daughter. Get this to the news. Young ladies need to be aware. Don’t be silent. We support you and your daughter.”
Mom Says Prosecutors Are Reviewing the Case
The mother has since shared another update, thanking viewers for their support and revealing more about the case.
She publicly identified the accused as an 18-year-old from Brownsville, Pennsylvania, and said that although he was arrested, he did not spend time in jail. She claimed the teen had been charged with simple assault, harassment, and underage drinking, but added that prosecutors were reviewing the case and that additional or more serious charges could follow.
The mom also said her daughter has obtained a protective order and that people on her college campus have been made aware of what the accused looks like.
The family has since started a GoFundMe as they prepare for the legal and medical expenses ahead.
