A Texas woman receives mixed reactions after posting a TikTok video accusing the restaurant, Joey Maple, of racism. The restaurant is in Dallas, and she was there with friends for a soft opening. However, they were allegedly denied entry because of “the nature of [their] outfits.”
In the video, she states she “has never been treated like this before.” The Texas woman is “disgusted” at the alleged incident. She says they turned her away because she and her friend were not dressed appropriately for the restaurant. However, she argues she was “racially profiled and denied entry.” The video shows the outfits. Many commenters argue their outfits didn’t meet Joey Maple’s dress code. She explains in the comments that she arrived first for the restaurant and was “told I wasn’t in their attire standards and was asked to leave.” Then her friend arrived separately and was told the same.
However, the Texas creator argues that while they were waiting for their other friends to arrive, she “saw women dining with [her] exact same outfit on.” The other women she saw were allegedly all white, and they were allowed entry. This is when she became frustrated with the restaurant. Furthermore, she alleges the staff was “extremely rude, extremely unprofessional, and [that] it was a very targeted experience.” Her video has over 326,000 views, over 17,000 likes, and over 3,000 comments.

Meanwhile, many argue that she should have shown more proof.
