A Texas university faculty member was suspended following a public confrontation with a vigilante child-safety group that accused him of messaging minors online.

The confrontation reportedly happened in a classroom and was livestreamed at length on Kick, during which the teacher allegedly discussed messaging minors. University of Houston Police Department officers responded to the scene, and the university suspended him from his position that same day.
Meanwhile, a video shared on X shows the aftermath of the confrontation rather than the confrontation itself. Several UHPD SUVs can be seen parked across campus roads and lots as officers interact with a man.
