A DoorDash driver making a delivery at a Florida home this past week found herself in a bizarre situation when the homeowner started ordering her to return after she dropped off the food. As it turned out, the homeowner had made one very unfortunate but hilarious mistake, though it may have given the poor DoorDasher a mini heart attack in the process.
The incident was captured on the homeowner’s Ring camera and later shared on TikTok, where the video has racked up more than a million views and over 200,000 likes.
The footage shows the DoorDash driver walking a short distance away after leaving the homeowner’s order on the front porch. She turned back briefly, appearing to take a photo of the delivery, and had barely started walking away again when a voice suddenly came through the camera.
“Hey, where you going? Get back here now,” the homeowner called out. The DoorDasher immediately stopped in her tracks. She slowly turned around and took a few steps back toward the house before stopping again.
From the footage alone, it’s hard to tell what was going through her mind, but she appeared unsure what to do next as she stood there for several seconds. Eventually, she seemed to decide that whatever was happening had nothing to do with her and continued on her way.
Homeowner Says She Thought It Was Her Teen
The homeowner later posted the Ring footage on TikTok and explained what had actually happened from her side. She said she wasn’t home at the time and had mistaken the DoorDash driver for her teenager, whom she thought was trying to sneak out of the house.
She said she hadn’t noticed the food sitting on the porch and only realized afterward that the person she had aggressively ordered to come back was actually the woman who had just delivered her food.
The homeowner was embarrassed by the mix-up but also couldn’t stop laughing once she realized what she had done.
Netizens Couldn’t Get Over the Driver’s Reaction
Viewers found the driver’s reaction just as funny, although several couldn’t help wondering what must have been going through her head.
