A New Mexico woman was working for an HOA when a cruel comment was made about her. She decided to speak up about it and the board made the choice to fire her. According to her, what resulted was being “violently terminated” and a call to the police.

Posted by TikTok user Pinkfinkvintage, Dee had been working for Dos Santos HOA for a short time. She shares on her TikTok video that she recently reported harassment by a homeowner who made a comment about her: “That little girl needs to learn some manners.” Instead of dealing with the issue, the HOA allegedly decided to fire her. Dee decided to record the entire confrontation, which quickly turned hostile.

@pinkfinkvintage

I was just violently terminated by Dos Santos HOA in Santa Fe NM. They do not have HR of any kind so their board members run rampant doing whatever they want. The woman filming me is a newly appointed board member, who was only appointed so that they could fire me and my coworker. I reported harassment from a homeowner that said “that little girl needs to learn some manners” or something similar about me to my male coworkers, and instead of the board protecting me, they fired me. The woman that’s almost falling down in the video is the board president, and she violently ripped my mouse and my keyboard out of my hands after coming around my desk. She told me that she basically didn’t like me for a while, and she was just plotting to fire me and now that my coworkers gone, she did just that. This is the most vile treatment I’ve ever experienced at a job in my life. #karensoftiktok#workplaceharrasment#workplaceretaliation#santafenewmexico#corrupthoa

In the video, a newly-appointed HOA board member records Dee while she speaks with the HOA board president. According to Dee she alleges Peggy (the board president) “violently ripped” Dee’s keyboard out of her hands during the confrontation. The women tell Dee that it’s “very inappropriate” to come here and they kick her out of the building.

Dee speaks with her audience about what happened leading up to this event. She said this HOA president and the other board members have treated her poorly and even terminated another co-worker who was working there for years. Dee claims Peggy told her that she “didn’t like her” for some time and she was “plotting to fire” Dee for a while.

Dee also added that, following the violent confrontation and Peggy putting her hands on her, she called 911. She didn’t say what police did about the matter, but asserts the HOA “is so corrupt” after her firing.

Viewers urge Dee to follow up with a lawyer

Given the way Dee claimed she was treated—and her TikTok video clearly shows a level of unprofessionalism among the HOA—viewers were not only sympathetic but some argued she shouldn’t leave it at that.

One commenter wasn’t surprised by how the HOA acted in Santa Fe because homeowners there “have money” and feel they’re “entitled to do whatever they want to.”

Dee was receptive to the idea of getting an attorney. “I know an attorney that may help you,” a viewer shared in the comments. “Are they in New Mexico? I’m having the worst time,” Dee wrote back.

In addition to an attorney, a TikTok user also suggested Dee contact the Better Business Bureau as well as the Mayor. “These people aren’t even Santa Fe natives just cause they have money doesn’t make them natives.”

No follow-up video yet if Dee will seek legal counsel but she has made it know she’s already on the hunt for another job and awaiting calls back.
