Is it time for a lawyer?

A North Carolina woman is concerned after she alleges she witnessing behavior from her neighbor’s dogs, and rightfully so. She said she physically watched them rip boards off of her fence just because there’s a dog on the other side.

D’Shawn (TikTok/Dshawnconsulting) documented her infuriating circumstances on TikTok, with her video showing her speaking with police and the damage to her fence. She says her neighbor’s dogs caused this.

@dshawnrconsulting

Your dogs should NOT be tearing through a fence trying to get to mine. After watching my neighbor’s dogs rip boards off the fence, I called the sheriff and documented what happened. I shouldn’t have to wait until my dog gets hurt to take this seriously. Would you have called too? 👀 #NeighborDrama #ControlYourDogs #ResponsiblePetOwnership #ProtectYourPets #greenscreen

After making it clear she filed a report, D’Shawn claims that her neighbors let their dogs rip boards off her fence. On top of that, D’Shawn has a dog of her own, which could lead to injury.

D’Shawn also shows how they tried to mitigate the damage. Showing off the hole the dogs dug up, she says there’s a cinderblock down there, so even if the dogs dig, the cinderblock prevents them from squeezing through. It also doubles as reinforcement for the fence.

The damage to the fence is extreme, as D’Shawn documented. She even took photos of her neighbor’s dogs and the broken boards lying all over her neighbor’s yard. It’s definitely going to be an expensive fix, and it will take a lot of time to fix a problem you didn’t create.

Viewers urge D’Shawn to continue documenting everything

Given D’Shawn’s situation, many of her viewers agreed she made the right move and even suggested additional steps to resolve the issue of the neighbor’s dogs.

Some were obvious, though one commenter suggested taking it to extremes. “What don’t you just get an electric fence?” they asked. D’Shawn liked a comment but already had a solution called “hot balls.” She did not elaborate on what that was.

Naturally, a viewer argued the neighbor should be responsible for the damage. Several TikTok users felt the same way, with one saying, “Take her to court.” One user even suggested, “Please put cameras up everywhere.”

Equally important was the breed of dogs causing the havoc. One viewer asked, and D’Shawn responded, claiming they were “pit and great pyrenees.” These are no cheap dogs. According to Chewy, pit bulls cost $1,300 to $2,500 per puppy; Great Pyrenees run $1,750 to $2,500 per puppy. Someone must have money for dog lessons!

Viewers await an update on the situation, now that D’Shawn has filed an official police report. Unless the neighbors offer to pay for the damage, D’Shawn could certainly try for small claims court.
