A Florida man was filmed going on a racist and homophobic rant toward an apparently uninvolved man who appeared to simply be walking down the street at the same time.
The incident reportedly happened at the University of Florida. Once the man began harassing the passerby, the latter started filming the encounter. The man was also recording the passerby as he continued harassing him. From the beginning of the video, he used racist language, referring to the guy as “Indian” before using a derogatory ethnic and racial slur targeting Indian people.
The man continued using slurs, eventually turning to homophobic insults. “How did you not kill yourself already? You’re an actual [homophobic slur],” he said. He continued walking alongside the guy while filming him before laughing and telling him, “Bro, you are making my night.” He then encouraged the guy to keep filming him before continuing to curse at him.
The video continued with the man still harassing the passerby. He began mocking him and pretended to speak on his behalf, saying, “I’m a [expletive] [homophobic slur].” He then returned to racist language, mocking the man by saying, “I’m Indian and I’m Punjabi and I think I’m so cool.”
At the end of the video, the man continued insulting the passerby, telling him, “Ugly [expletive].” He then finally began walking away. The guy who was targeted only responded to the racist and homophobic remarks by telling him, “Yeah, have a good one man.” It remains unclear whether the individual will face any consequences or what initially prompted the attack.
Viewers Criticize Florida Man Over Offensive Rant
The video of the Florida man going on a racist and homophobic rant drew criticism from viewers, with many condemning his behavior. Some speculated that he may have been intoxicated and would regret his actions later, particularly if he was a student at the university. “He’s gonna regret this in the morning…not what he said, but that he got caught saying it. Odds are UF will let it slide though, Florida education has clearly gotten worse the past 10 years,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Depends on who his daddy is as far as how bad, but yeah he’s not getting expelled over this or anything.”
More viewers believed the man could face consequences for his behavior. “This will haunt this little [expletive] forever,” one person wrote. Another replied, “If there’s any good left in this world, then hopefully yeah.” Someone else agreed, adding, “Can’t wait for the fallout!!”
Ultimately, the encounter was an unsettling reminder of the racist and homophobic harassment people can still face simply while going about their day. Judging by the response online, many viewers were particularly frustrated that an innocent stranger was subjected to the abuse and hoped the man responsible would ultimately be held accountable for his behavior.
