Two girls in Ohio were accused of racist behavior after they were filmed harassing restaurant employees and asking whether they were “illegal.”
An employee shared a video of the incident online and asked viewers to help identify the girls. “Two white girls harass workers in the Flats. Cleveland locals, if you recognize them, please let me know who they are‼,” they wrote on top of the video.
The employee also explained in the caption what led to the confrontation. They said the restaurant workers had simply informed the girls that the restaurant was closed and could not provide them with food or the Wi-Fi password. That was when the situation escalated.
In the video, the two girls stood in front of the bar while looking at the employees. Some viewers online believed they were drunk based on their behavior. One of the girls addressed the employee who was filming and asked him to show his ID. “Do you even work here?” the other girl asked. The first girl then repeated her request for the worker to show her his ID.
In the next part of the video, another employee could be heard saying, “no service.” Instead of leaving, the girls continued confronting the workers. One of them appeared to struggle to get her words out as she asked the employee, “Do you guys even have, like, are you guys like, do you guys have, like, American passports?” Viewers online believed the question was racist.
“What are you talking about? American passport? Just go. Just go away, please,” one of the employees told the girl. Rather than leaving, the two girls continued using language that some viewers considered racist. “Are you guys even from here?” one of them then asked the restaurant workers.
The girl continued questioning the workers about their status before asking, “Oh my God. Are you guys, like, illegal?” She then asked for the employees’ names. As one of the workers again told the girls to leave, the same girl responded, “but I’m still in here.” She then added, “Your security guard can get me.” The girl also said, “I’m an American citizen. Are you an American citizen?” The employee responded that they were American citizens. The girl then stared at one of the workers before eventually walking away.
In the caption, the worker who shared the video called the girls racist. “If you have any idea who these two racist ladies are please let me know! What gives anyone the right to approach people doing their jobs and question their status? They even tried to get the police involved after, using their white femininity to victimize themselves, despite starting the argument,” they wrote. It remains unclear whether the girls later returned to the restaurant or addressed the situation publicly.

Many viewers criticized the two Ohio girls after seeing how they treated the restaurant workers. Some argued that their behavior was unacceptable regardless of whether they were intoxicated. “Omg. How embarrassing and being drunk is not an excuse. Gross behavior,” one person wrote. Another person said, “Stop blaming their racism on alcohol. They were racist before they got drunk. Stop excusing racism. Plsssss.”
Some viewers also claimed to have identified the girls and shared their names in the comments. “Submitted a formal complaint to their school!” one person wrote. Another person asked, “I never understood why being from another country is used as an insult.. is it jealousy that makes a person act out like that?” Someone else added, “I so hope these women are identified… horrible racism.”
The reactions also focused on the treatment of the restaurant employees, with viewers arguing that workers should not be harassed while carrying out their jobs. Others pointed out that alcohol should not be used to excuse the girls’ behavior.
