The fateful day has arrived, and not without its setbacks and concerns. As many know, the midterm elections are key to what may happen all around the country. Normally, one would expect Election Day to be without drama and to allow voters to get to the booths and cast their votes. Well, it seems the DOJ had another idea for that, as it has dispatched hundreds of election monitors all over the country. Since this has never happened before, many Americans are furious that Trump and the DOJ are doing this on such an important day for everyone in the US.
While many were expecting to get to the booths without issues, it seems that won’t be the case. According to several sources, such as The Washington Examiner and ABC 11, the Department of Justice decided to send around 1,000 election monitors to every state. This is due to the alleged election fraud that Trump keeps claiming happened back in 2020. As many of you can imagine, Americans are furious about this, as they believe Trump is just looking for ways to tamper with the elections and put fear into many voters who just want to cast their ballots.
Another thing that is extremely concerning is that this is the first time that something of this magnitude has happened on Election Day. While Election Monitors sent by the DOJ aren’t something new, the number of them and the scale nationwide is alarming. As the above article says, back when the midterms of 2022 took place during Biden’s presidency, he only sent 400 election monitors, and only to less than half of the states in the country. So, seeing Trump do something like this makes the whole thing seem sketchy, and as many put it: overkill.
Americans Are Fed Up with Trump’s Alleged Attempts to Tamper With the Elections
There are many reasons why Americans should feel angry today, but one that keeps making it into several comments on several social media channels is how Trump is just using the DOJ as he pleases.
“The DOJ is Trump’s personal law firm now.”
And while some are confident that there is no fraud in the elections, some think the monitors may end up wreaking havoc to say otherwise.
“These monitors will find nothing credible, but create a lot of smoke to claim the election was fraudulent.“
Despite Trump’s long history of being the “President who cried fraud,” as some put it, many voters are happy that they voted early, as they may be able to avoid all the chaos of Election Day.
