The final trailer for Gotham‘s swan song season is here and it is packed to the brim with action and plenty of classic Batman villains.
The four-minute trailer showed off a villain-filled sizzle reel with the likes of Jeremiah Valeska (who is soon to become the Joker), Bane, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, and much more. Now that these bad guys have taken over the city of Gotham, we are sure in for an intense final season.
Most notable in this clip is the introduction of Shane West’s Bane. The ex-military operative, Eduardo Dorrance, has been brought to Gotham to assist Jim Gordon in freeing the city from the grips of the villains who inhabit it. Towards the end of the trailer, we see the Bane we all recognize, facemask and all.
Another huge plot point in the footage is the location of Ace Chemicals, which Batman fans will recognize as the birthplace of the Joker. It appears that Bruce Wayne and Jeremiah will have some sort of altercation within the infamous power plant, possibly leading to the creation of Valeska’s Joker. Once he’s finally given the name, it seems the transformation into Batman’s greatest foe will be complete.
Finally, we got a sneak peek at Francesca Root-Dodson’s performance as Harley Quinn. In the trailer, she can be seen donning a pair of roller skates and brandishing a baseball bat. With the addition of the white face makeup and the fact that she refers to someone as “puddin'”, it looks like Gotham is taking a faithful approach to the character.
Gotham‘s final season, aptly titled “The Legend of the Dark Knight”, is only two weeks away.
