Typhoon Studios has released a new teaser for its upcoming game, Journey to the Savage Planet. The teaser released with demos at GDC last week. Journey to the Savage Planet is a single player RPG game. The entire game focuses on the exploration of the planet AR-Y 26. One of the objectives for players in the game is to determine whether or not the planet is suitable for humans. Aside from the explorative flashback to the Golden Age style, the bright and colorful scenes may be misleading.
In the teaser, you notice weapons and possible conflict between you and the creatures of planet AR-Y 26. The game is clearly going to be more than a wondrous new planet with utopian means. The demos received positive feedback and developing company Typhoon Studios is confident to a successful launch of the game in 2020.
Joining the efforts to make Journey to the Savage Planet a knock-out, 505 games is publishing and pushing for the best that Typhoon Studios has. The international game publisher has offices all over the world which could be a huge advantage to Typhoon. Creative Director and Co-founder of Typhoon Studios Alex Hutchinson stated in a press release:
“As a studio, we have a deep love of Golden Age science fiction, but it feels like some of the positivity and sense of adventure has been lost in recent years, there are too many dystopias for my tastes, so we wanted Journey to the Savage Planet to give space exploration its sense of adventure back in homage to those early sci fantasies and add a comedic twist. This teaser is just a small taste of what we’ve been working on; we can’t wait to show off more in the coming months.”
The project looks to be moving along swimmingly. We are looking forward to seeing the game evolve.
