It isn’t enough to level up your heroes in AFK Journey. Ascension is key to creating an unstoppable team. It allows you to transform characters from one tier, or rarity, to another higher one. But you need the right ascension materials to guide your heroes through the ranks in AFK Journey. That price will always vary based on specific heroes, their current rarity, and the tier you’re moving them toward. Plus, it pays to know your best heroes as you want to ensure you’re investing in the right characters.
How To Ascend Heroes in AFK Journey
When you ascend a hero in AFK Journey, you guide them to a new tier and new skills, upgrading them more intensely than just leveling them up. There are two things you can use to ascend characters:
- Soul Sigils
- Acorns
Both Soul Sigils and Acorns are earned through various means like quest rewards, login bonuses, etc., but you’ll mainly score them via Hero Recruitment. It’s ideal to gain duplicate recruitments of heroes you want to ascend in AFK Journey because those duplicates are automatically converted to Soul Sigils.
Ascending heroes improve their overall battle prowess and will unlock access to new and stronger abilities. You start with an Ultimate and two Skills. Through ascension, you’ll gain the following:
- Hero Focus (ascend to Legendary+)
- EX Skill (ascend to Mythic+)
- Enhance Force (ascend to Supreme+)
Hero Ascension Costs in AFK Journey
It will cost quite a bit of material to guide your AFK Journey heroes through the various ascension tiers. Reaching Supreme+ is more than enough for many players, but you can also breach Paragon levels if you have the determination. Paragon levels are only available once you have 25 Supreme+ heroes. So, it’s certainly not easy to come by, but it’s worth it if you want the ultimate team.

A-Level AFK Journey Hero Ascension Costs
To reach full ascension with an A-Level character, plan to spend 289 Soul Sigils and 200 Acorns from Elite+ to Paragon 4.

Our S-Level rarity heroes skip the first two tiers that A-Level ones go through simply because they start at Epic. They do rely more on Acorns though. You’ll spend 37 Soul Sigils and 350 Acorns for a single character through Epic+ to Paragon 4.

Celestial/Hypogean Hero Ascension Costs
If you’re lucky enough to nab some of the Celestial or Hypgoean heroes, you won’t have to use nearly as many materials to guide them through ascension in AFK Journey, perhaps because it’s not easy to obtain them in the first place. Nevertheless, you’ll spend 33 Soul Sigils to get them through Epic+ to Paragon 4.

Best Heroes To Ascend
You’ll want to pool your Acorn resources in AFK Journey once you guide heroes through those specific ascension levels. So, the best heroes to ascend are typically the strongest characters you have. That can differ for everyone, but consider these heroes if you pull them:
- Cecia
- Silvina
- Viperian
- Rowan
- Vala
- Antandra
- Hewynn
- Smokey and Meerky
- Cassadee
- Igor
Those are just a few A-Level and S-Level rarity heroes that tend to make most players top spots. Your lineup might be different, and that’s perfectly fine. Remember to guide only your most-played and strongest AFK Journey heroes through ascension. If you can, aim for a balanced team, focusing on support, range, warriors, tanks, etc. This way, you’ll build a well-rounded lineup to hammer down any enemy team in PvP and PvE.
