Respawn Entertainment is giving away free Apex Packs to anyone who plays Apex Legends and had to deal with the recent account progress issues in the game. The packs are a way to compensate for the troubles and aim to bring players back into the game.

It all started last week when players started losing all the progress they made in the game on their accounts as they were reset entirely. It was caused by an update released by Respawn Games and led to a lot of backlash on social media. The developers apologized for the whole situation on X/Twitter and admitted that they messed up.

Respawn is still working on restoring the progress lost in the affected accounts, and while that is taking place, you can claim your free Apex Packs and get some cosmetic items as well as some crafting currency. You will receive a total of 8 Apex Packs and you can claim them at any time if you log in before April 24 at 10 AM PT. After that, the free packs will no longer be available.

All of this, however, hasn’t resolved the issues for everyone. Many players have explained on social media that either their progress was not restored completely, or it still hasn’t been restored at all. Some have even reported being banned after the update even though they haven’t even logged in since the update’s release.

EA and Respawn Entertainment can’t seem to catch a break. The studio recently had to deal with a massive hack during the North American finals of Apex Legends, which resulted in some of the competitors gaining hacks. The match had to be postponed, and the security concerns had to be resolved before everyone could get back into the game. EA’s anti-cheat system was to blame, and will hopefully be more secure after the update.
