Light greatswords offer an interesting mix of sword techniques in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Being faster than greatswords yet having the same reach, they feel like a combination of a straight sword and an estoc. While your traditional sword tends to be faster, the number of hits you get from dancing around the field with a light greatsword is nothing short of impressive, especially if you’re wielding Rellana’s Twin Blades. Light greatswords are definitely worth giving a try once you head into Elden Ring’s DLC.
Elden Ring: How to Get Milady Light Greatsword
The meme name aside, the Milady will be the first light greatsword you’ll come across in Elden Ring and only needs 12 strength and 17 dexterity to wield. Don’t get too attached to it because you might end up replacing it shortly after.
Starting from the Castle Front site of grace just outside Castle Ensis, head up the stairs into the castle and continue on until you come to a couple of soldiers and their dogs. Rather than enter the nearby cave, head up the flight of wooden stairs.
Afterwards, you’ll find a ladder to climb, leading you to a small tower. At the top is a chest, and inside is Miliday.
Elden Ring: How to Get Rellana’s Twin Blades
While the Milady is a pretty neat light greatsword, it pales in comparison to Rellana’s Twin Blades. Not only do they have the unique Moon-and-Fire Stance skill, but you get two swords when you 2-hand them, just like you do with backhand blades. More importantly, one sword is imbued with glintstone magic while the other is imbued with Messmer fire.
Now, with Rellana’s Twin Blades being Rellana’s weapons, you can probably guess where this is going: you need to defeat Rellana in Castle Ensis. Trade Rellana’s Remembrance (of the Twin Moon Knight), and the swords are yours.
But wait! If you’re a caster, I highly recommend you first copy the Remembrance of the Twin Moon Knight so you can get the incantation Rellana’s Twin Moons.
Elden Ring: How to Get Leda’s Sword
Leda’s Sword is just as unique, thanks to its Needle Piercer skill, which summons 10 gold needles above your target and attacks all at once. It’s the last and final light greatsword in Elden Ring and can be picked up while you’re in Enir-llin, but here’s the problem: Enir-llin is the endgame area.
More importantly, Leda’s Sword drops from Needle Knight Leda herself, the NPC you spoke with before you entered the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. You even get her armor!
The good news is you can’t miss Leda’s Sword since the main story has you crossing paths with her in Enir-llin, above the Cleansing Chamber Anteroom site of grace.
