Facepunch recently released the Rust Frontier Base Decor DLC Pack, and it has tons of items in it. However, is this DLC actually worth buying it? In this article, we will discuss what kind of players this DLC is suitable for and whether you should buy it or not. Also, this DLC includes some pay-to-win features, we will also touch on that. Let’s deep dive into this western-themed Base Decor DLC.
All Rust Frontier Pack DLC Content
Wanted Poster
This Rust Frontier Pack DLC item allows you to make a Wanted Poster. You can attach any player’s in-game image to this item.
Fish Trophy
The Fish Trophy item allows you to display your sea and freshwater fish trophies and bring joy to your base. After placing the fish, you can interact with the item to make it sing, and listen to its joyful reproach.
Hunting Trophy
The Hunting Trophy is similar to the Fish Trophy item, but you can display other players’ heads and the heads of animals such as Bears, Wolves, Pigs, and even Scientists.
Barn Doors
With Barn Doors you can make your base look like the taverns in old cowboy movies. The way these doors work is different from the other doors in the game. There are two animations you can use when opening these doors. The first one is to push the door open hard with both hands. The second is to kick the door open.
Frontier Planters
With Frontier Planters that you can get from Rust Frontier Pack DLC, you can grow plants in small spaces.
Rocking Chair
You can roof camp all day in this chair that rocks like an old cowboy. Just joking, please don’t do that.
Single Weapon Rack
If you don’t have the Weapon Rack DLC and don’t want to pay for it separately, you can stick with the single Weapon Racks offered in the Rust Frontier Pack DLC.
Storage Barrel
A pay-to-win item that allows you to have more Storage Slots in less space. It serves as a Large Wood Box, and has the same number of slots, but is smaller in size and takes up less space than the Large Wood Box.
Torch Holder
This item allows you to light up your base with Torch for only 40 Wood and 10 Metal Fragments. Great for when you don’t have electricity yet or for roleplay.
Skinning Knife Tool
This tool allows you to take the heads of the animals or players you killed. For example, if you want to display a bear’s head in your base, you need to kill the bear and then gather it with this knife. Then you should put the head in the Hunting Trophy.

Is It Worth Buying Frontier Base Decor DLC Pack in Rust?
The answer to this question depends on what you are expecting from this DLC and how you play the game. If you are a roleplayer who doesn’t do much PvP and Raid and loves to run a shop you will surely enjoy this Rust Frontier Pack DLC.
The reason for this there are tons of decor, and roleplay items that you can use for your base and shop. For example Rocking Chair, and Barn Doors. You can be the retired cowboy who keeps his hands off dirty work and runs a humble shop. Also if you like running a Farm Base in Rust you will be very fond of the new Frontier Planters that you can plant your crops.
Apart from that, many of the players buy it because of the pay-to-win advantage that it offers to players. In a Tool Cupboard room with Large Wood Boxes, you can get a total of 258 Storage Slots, while you can get 384 Storage Slots if you use the Storage Barrels provided by the Frontier DLC Pack. This is a really wicked pay-to-win feature if you ask me.
However, you should keep in mind that there is a rumor that Facepunch will increase the size of Storage Barrels. So that players have the same amount of Storage Slots. Long story short, if you want to decorate your base and if you are a roleplayer, this is the DLC for you. Apart from that, if you are willing to buy it for the pay-to-win feature, you should consider the rumors we just mentioned.
