Warframe Tome Mods are the new mod types in the game introduced in Update 35, and they’re reserved for the Grimoire Secondary weapon, for now. By using them, you’ll be giving up a mod slot (or two) and are potentially losing out on weapon DPS. That’s why we’re ranking all the Warframe Tome Mods, so you know which ones are worth the mod slots. Bear in mind that Warframe Tome Mods are split into two categories: Canticles (Exilus mod slot) and Invocations (regular mod slot). You can only use one Canticle and one Invocation for the Grimoire.
Canticle Tome Mods, Ranked
These Tome Mods are basically special Exilus mods that help the whole squad. You’re included in the benefits, of course. This is how useful each one is based on our experience. Here they are from worst to best.
4. Jahu Canticle
- “Killing enemies reduces the Armor and Shields of other enemies within Affinity Range by 5%.”
At first glance, it looks like a DPS increase, but five percent is low enough to be negligible. There are other ways of stripping enemy Armor and Shields that don’t require sacrificing an Exilus slot.
3. Lohk Canticle
- “Killing enemies grants Allies within Affinity Range +30% Fire Rate for 15s.”
Now, this is the DPS increase that the Jahu Canticle Tome Mod wished it was. That is assuming everyone in the squad uses ranged weapons; otherwise, it’s useless for melee and Warframe skill spammer builds.
2. Fass Canticle
- “Killing enemies grants Allies in Affinity Range 40% Shield Recharge Rate and -28% Shield Recharge Delay for 15s.”
If you’re a fan of the Shield-gating survival mechanic, then this mod is just way too valuable. The Shield Recharge bonuses are practically survivability boosts.
It makes endurance runs a lot easier, not just for you but for the whole squad, perfect for farming Arcanes or other valuable resources.
1. Khra Canticle
- “Enemies have a 12% chance to drop a Universal Orb on death.”
The Khra Canticle is just great all around and is the most unconditional out of all the Canticle mods. It can even solve your Energy problems, so it’s a must-have.
Invocation Tome Mods, Ranked
These Tome Mods function like regular mods, though you can only slot one in your Grimoire. Again, here’s how each of them can be useful to you, from worst to best.
4. Ris Invocation
- “Alternate Fire increases Ability Duration by 4% for 20s for each enemy hit. Stacks up to 15 times.”
Lately, Duration for Warframes—especially the newer ones—has mostly been a dump stat. Still, it’s great for buffer Warframes or those relying on invisibility skills.
3. Netra Invocation
- “Alternate Fire increases Ability Efficiency by 4% for 20s for each enemy hit. Stacks up to 15 times.”
This one is great for Energy-hungry Warframes, though you can easily circumvent those builds with Energy regeneration. It’s almost complementary for Mesa, however.
2. Vome Invocation
- “Alternate Fire increases Ability Strength by 4% for 20s for each enemy hit. Stacks up to 15 times.”
Hit 15 enemies, and that’s 60 percent Ability Strength, which is practically permanent given how easy it is to build up Alternate Fire for the Grimoire.
That’s bigger than Transient Fortitude’s bonus without the drawback. You can probably even ditch some Ability Strength mods with this one.
1. Xata Invocation
- “Alternate Fire grants 1 Energy Regen/s for 20s for each enemy hit. Stacks up to 10 times.”
Xata Invocation regenerates 10 Energy for 20 seconds if you hit a large cluster of enemies. 400 Energy is nothing to scoff at. You can even ditch Arcane Energize or Zenurik if you use this mod precisely.
