In a surreal twist, Amber Heard sobs on the stand this week. In a moment of emotion during the Amber Heard trial, the actress now is seemingly pointing out how she is the victim in all of this. But all evidence up to this point paints a contrary picture to the one she is now painting.
The aspect that pushed her over the edge is the barrage of death threats she is now receiving. She is also very quick to point out that all this is via social media, and Depp has done nothing to quell it. Impartial people would assure her that it is not his job to comfort her, especially under the current circumstances.
A Vintage Witch Burning
Sobbing openly while on the stand this past Thursday, Heard painted a picture of her as the victim of a witch hunt. Oddly, she does nothing to mention the effect all the stuff she did had on Depp, though. In psychology, she was taking a “victim stance,” though that hardly seems an accurate depiction of the Amber Heard we have seen on trial.
Regardless of how you may feel about the actress, she still has a right to say her piece. Judgment hasn’t come in yet.
Heard also made it clear that life has been brutally hard since the relationship. She sadly proclaimed how she could no longer find work. She also pointed out how she gets “triggered” often by memories from her PTSD-riddled relationship, bringing her to a professional halt. At this point, all we can hope for is that this fiasco keeps other people from getting in equally toxic relationships themselves now. Maybe pop culture can learn from the fallout of these two.
Judging from both sides’ testimony, though, that relationship took a great deal out of them. But in all fairness, she still has all her fingers.
