Fast food workers on social media seem to always be getting the short end of the stick. They have to deal with customers from all walks of life, some who inexplicably take their bad days out on workers. When one man in North Carolina didn’t get his way at a KFC restaurant, he thought causing property damage was the most ideal move.
The confrontation was all caught on camera by TikTok user Terissahumphrey (Terissa). In her video, she caught the end of it, where an angry man storms up to the metal barrier where you order your food. He takes his hat and swipes it at the counter, hitting the little advertisements they have up.
As Terissa is recording, she says he’s “popping off” and she and the other bystanders watch the man exit the building. As he does so, he makes an angry fist with his hand and slams it into their glass door. Terissa exclaims, “He just broke y’alls window!” to the workers. She pans back to the workers, who are now pointing at the window with faces of complete shock and awe.
Before Terissa stops recording, one of the workers says that “he got mad” but we aren’t sure what led to this over-the-top confrontation. Whatever caused him to fly off the handle likely isn’t worth the hundreds of dollars of property damage he’d have to pay. Not to mention showing to the Internet how little self-control he has.
The Internet made fun of the North Carolina man
As these types of outbursts tend to go, people commenting on Terissa’s TikTok video took turns making fun of the customer. Given the limited context, many also speculated on the man’s personal beliefs. “Guess who he voted for?” Others wondered what set the man off.
“Well it’s KFC so I can relate to his frustration and I see no problem,” wrote one viewer. This attracted several TikTok users to make fun of the commenter. “You can related to being a manbaby in public?” one user asked, and other similar quips.
Another user tried to justify the man’s frustration, arguing people are “tired of spending their hard earned money” only for employees to “treat them like crap.” In the thread, most vehemently disagreed, one of whom said employees have it hard enough dealing with “minimum wage” and “entitled adults.”
Even Terissa chimed in with her own remark, writing in the caption of her video that “homeboy wanted his chicken.” We’ll never know why he had a crash out, but it certainly couldn’t have been enough to break windows.
