Todd and Julie Chrisley won’t be the only Chrisleys in prison if care isn’t taken. The power couple has been behind bars for over a year, serving out their combined 19-year sentence. In November 2023, a jury convicted them of fraud and tax evasion scheme charges. Amid hopes that matriarch Julie’s sentence will be vacated, another family member has gotten into trouble with the law.
On Monday, authorities arrested Todd’s eldest son, Kyle Chrisley, on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest. The incident, an altercation with a mechanic over a financial dispute, happened in Tennessee. He later posted bail of $6,500, with a hearing scheduled for December.
Ahead of his hearing, where his fate will be decided, Kyle spoke to InTouch Weekly, calling his arrest unfair. The reality star denied the assault accusations, saying he initially called the police to help but they turned against him. “[We] called the police for help with a man at my home threatening my life, ramming into my wife’s car,” he recalled. “Literally said ‘Kyle, I will kill you dead,’ told me to jump in front of his car so he could run me over while revving up his engine, and instead of arresting him, they arrest me.” The Chrisley Knows Best alum claimed the officers profiled him because of his famous last name and his history.
“Maybe it’s because of my last name. I have heard Rutherford County likes to make a name for themselves and I think they saw this as an opportunity to do just that.”
He continued, “I also think it’s very easy for this man to fabricate a story knowing I’ve already had a similar alleged incident. The entire situation is insane to me.”
Todd Chrisley’s Son Has A Troubled History Of Assault
This isn’t Kyle’s first rodeo with the law. In March 2023, officers of Rutherford County arrested him for threatening to harm his boss during an argument. He was charged with felony aggravated assault. The heated fight was over a $36 difference in Kyle’s paycheck, and he reportedly brandished a knife at his boss. Luckily, prosecutors dropped the charges in April, giving Kyle a chance at freedom. The reason for the dismissal remains unknown.
